BOB HURLEY EXERCISE

Extracted from the book Basketball Fundamentals, by Ryan Goodson

This exercise is used to practice reading the game and reaction skills.

Equipment
• Two players, two balls and a cone.
• The players position themselves. on both sides of the triple line; Each player has a ball and begins to dribble with his right hand.

Development
1. Player 1 and Player 2 advance towards the cone, and therefore towards each other, at full speed.
2. Upon reaching the cone, player 1 chooses to execute one of the possible movements to change direction: change of hand with a dribble in front, change of hand by dribbling the ball between the legs or change of hand by dribbling the ball behind the back.< br>3. Player 1 practices the movement and Player 2 must successfully imitate the same action.
4. After completing the change of direction, both players accelerate movement by dribbling the ball to the 3-point line on the opposite side; then they repeat the exercise.
5. Player 2 receives a point each time he successfully completes the movement without altering speed or stopping.
6. Each player practices the exercise for one minute and writes down the score.

Keys to training

This exercise is designed to & nbsp; run at maximum speed.  Players must not alter their speed or slow down, and/or the use of feints is not permitted. The player leading the exercise makes a decisive move and leaves. To increase the difficulty of the exercise,  We will ask the players to execute two or three movements before leaving.
