Cuando finalice la situación de 3x2, el jugador que haya lanzado a canasta, o haya perdido el balón, se convertirá automáticamente en defensor. Los dos defensores del 3x2 cuando tengan el balón en su poder se trasformarán en los nuevos atacantes, generando la situación de 2x1 en el aro contrario.
